Top Ten Random Things To Catch Y'all Up On My Life

1. I have been asked to make another baby rump cake. This one will be for a girl. I am so excited! The customer saw it at my niece-in-law's shower and tracked me down.

2. I have also been approached (via Renni) to make earrings that will be sold in a local store. A lady that used to work with her and loved her earrings that I was always making for her is the one wanting to sell them.

3. I have also been asked by a dear friend to make some washable adult diapers for her elderly mother. I would never charge her for doing this but I still think of it as a great business opportunity, as it opens up a new market for me. I mean, if I can make them as a favor and have them turn out OK, I will be more confident about making them to sell. I'm just amazed at all the business that is tracking me down lately. The Secret really works!

4. I finally figured out how to make my own dishwasher detergent! I have tried many times, using suggestions that I found online and none of them ever really worked. Plus, some of the recipes contained things that I would be afraid to use on my dishes. But, I finally created a formula that is safe, cheap, and doesn't leave my dishes smelling weird, like the commercial stuff. I was so nervous, washing the first load with this and thrilled when everything came out sparkling clean, with no residue. I honestly think this is the first time that I haven't had to rewash even one dish! Even the dishwasher looks cleaner... Plus, I was able to take a gallon of it, add a few things, and turn it into hand dish washing detergent. All total, I have 4 gallons for just over 1.00! Add that to the fact that I use plain white vinegar as my rinse agent and I am now saving a ton of money.

5.Cina is feeling some better. Thanks for all the prayers. Her fever is gone and she is getting around more. But it hurts for her to chew and swallow. Her throat is still sore and she says that her teeth feel bruised. Out of desperation to find food she can eat, I have created a lot of great things this week. Including an awesome cream of chicken soup and an amazing ice cream tipping made from canned peaches... I guess necessity really is the mother of invention.

6. Ross is going to be a workaholic! It is so precious to see her sling her "pack pack" (backpack) over her shoulder and go strolling for the door. When we ask her where she is going, the answer is always "work".

7. Ross has obviously been channel surfing... The other night, she was watching a Tivo'd episode of Gullah Gullah Island. She loves that show. She can tell you the names of the entire cast and knows the theme song forward and back. Her favorite is the pollywog (frog) Binyah Binyah. Every stuffed frog, every picture of a frog, every frog she sees in now called Binyah Binyah. Anyway, Renni, the other girls, and I, were just talking among ourselves about something or another and we all burst out laughing for whatever reason. Ross started waving her finger at us and said," Hey! It's not punny guys! Binyah Binyah is a crazy sub-uh-nuh-bitch!" That sure stopped our laughter in it's tracks! I was like, " What did you say, Ross?!", hoping that we had just misunderstood, and she repeated, still waving her finger, "Binyah Binyah is a crazy sub-uh-nuh-bitch! It's not punny!" She was so serious.

We all turned our heads and laughed into our shoulders silently. I mean really, what does one do? She just turned 2 years old. So punishment is not in order. I did know that we shouldn't let her see us react to what she said, especially not with laughter. I know she did not hear that phrase on Gullah Gullah Island. I'm thinking that maybe she got it from one of the movie channels, during a stolen remote moment. I just wonder how her little mind decided to attach that phrase to Binyah Binyah. I mean, I have often thought that very thing myself, but never said it...

8. Tallen is great at Geography! We were outside the other night, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows when someone asked Tallen about The Great Wall, his absolute favorite place to discuss lol. The conversation moved to Paris and the Egypt. Well, Hubs started asking him where this and that landmark was, some here in the U.S. and some on the other side of the planet. I was totally not expecting Tallen to know the answers. But he did! I thought Hubs might fall off his chair! LOL As has happened many times before, we will have no idea that Tallen knows anything about a subject because of his age and what we are aware of him having been exposed to in the subject, then one day, someone will ask him a question, (usually being a jerk, trying to stump him), and we realize that he knows all about it. It is so amazing to see his mind at work.

9. Lil' Gimpy is sick. We found him listless this morning. He refuses to drink or eat. NOW Hubs let us bring him inside. A day late and a dollar short, if you ask me. I guess he never learned that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

10. Selly and I finally got the carport/garage cleaned and organized. I have no idea what Hubs intended it to be. It's connected to the house, it is huge and has a cement floor, folks have to walk through it to get to the stairs that lead to the landing that is the kitchen entrance, or to get to the stairs that go to the basement. But it has a huge opening with no doors on one side and a regular door leading to a deck on the other side. I have never seen even the first car parked in it ever. It has 4 huge windows. It also holds one of my chest freezers ( the smaller one sits on the landing). But basically, all I have ever seen is that it was piled with Hubs junk and unfinished projects.

When Hubs came home and saw we had cleaned and removed a lot of things, he had a meltdown. His biggest fit was over a glass top kitchen table, with the glass missing, that he bought off someone 15 years ago. It had came with their new mobile home and they didn't want it. He brought it home, stuck it on a pile of other useless stuff, and never touched it again. So I loaded it up one a trailer to be hauled away. He was like, "What the hell is my table doing on that trailer?!" I was like, "That's not a table. It would like to be a table but it has not top. It is a fake brass, plastic, table STAND with a frame and a big gaping hole on top of it." He said, "But it can be fixed!" I said, "Sure it CAN be fixed but obviously, you're not going to fix it or use it, or you would have at some point in the last 15 years." He said, "Fine! Just throw the damn thing away!" I said, "Alright, since you insist..." He said, "Go to hell!" LOL

At any rate, the garage hole looks a zillion times better and it is nice to have a cool place to sit in the evenings and watch the little ones catch lightening bugs. Plus we now have a place to sit up a small table, fire up the little outdoor fireplace, and roast hot dogs and marshmallows. I love the quality time away from the TV blaring and just getting to talk to the kids and such.

There you have it. Hugs to all! I have missed my blog so much! It is my sanity.
