A little bit of this, that, and the other...
The Trip That`Wasn't
I went back to bed yesterday morning, hoping to get a couple more hours of sleep. I did but, when I awoke, my right hip had that familiar, gut wrenching pain, that I can only describe as feeling like someone twisting my leg around in it's socket and trying to rip it off. This happens quite a bit and always occurs while I sleep. Usually, I can shake it off within minutes, by just getting up and moving around. That is not the case this time. I took pain meds yesterday and waited, knowing it would pass soon. It never did and is still with me today. My hip is even visibly swollen. The strange this is that the pain doesn't shoot through it when I put weight on it, it actually happens when I lift my right foot off the floor, even a little bit. It does hurt to the touch, however, so I can't lie on my right side. I wonder if this could be a response to the weather change. If there is no change in a couple of days, I plan to go beg my doctor for a steroid shot or something. I can't wrangle up my little human critters in this condition.lol

Egyptian Walking Onions
I lucked out a few weeks back and found these on eBay. A lady just happened to be selling off her extra sets. So I got several at a very good price. No where near the cost that I have seen them for sale other places. Anyway, I am going to put a few in the ground outside, but I also decided to plant some in a couple of pots in the kitchen. I am not even joking when I tell you that these things are literally growing over an inch a day! I have taken pics and will post them as soon as I get another keyboard for the big computer. In the meantime, I found a site that gives loads of info and pictures of these HERE
I know that Sonya Ann and some of my other blog friends would love these! Thanks to what S.A. taught me a while back, I know that I can just keep snipping these off at the base, as I need them, and leave the rest of the plant to grow. By the way, her blog accidentally got deleted and she is starting over. This means that she lost all of her followers and such. I know if you have ever been to her blog, you'd want to return, as she is one of the funniest, sweetest, and smartest people, you'd ever want to meet.
Coffee Crisis
I recently purchased a 10 Cup Brew Station, to replace my old 12 Cup version, that had bladder control problems, of sorts. Well, it worked great for a few days, then the flow reduced to a trickle. I worked around that by just pouring straight from the carafe. Then, on Thanksgiving Day, the flood gates burst, and this beast peed an entire pot of coffee onto my counter, down into the floor, even into my silverware drawer. I didn't panic, I just took an old one from the pantry, cleaned it up, and started using it. This is the kind with a glass carafe. Well, all was great for about three days and then that pot stopped working. It won't heat or brew. I know the company that I purchased the Brew Station from will gladly replace it, as they are great about standing behind what they sell. But, while I wait, I am boiling water on the stove and pouring it through a filter basket of coffee, that I hold above a glass carafe. LOL This has been the process for about a week. Everyone just shakes their head at my doing this but I don't mind. I guess they don't know that letting my coffee levels reach zero could greatly increase the chances of their being injured. What is the craziest thing you've ever done to get a cup of coffee, or whatever your morning beverage of choice is?
Pizuffins
A few nights ago, I was absolutely starving. I couldn't think of s single thing around here that I wanted to eat. So, I made up some biscuit dough, fried up some meat and seasonings, that I had on hand, made a batch of pizza sauce and found some Mozzarella in the fridge. The results? Pizuffins! They tasted great. Even Hubs liked them! I'll be sharing the "recipe" and pics over at Beans and Taters, in the next few days.
I sympathize with the pain except mine is my knee.Good luck
ReplyDeleteThe pizza things sound great. Be sure to post a link when you share the recipe

ReplyDelete"I guess they don't know that letting my coffee levels reach zero could greatly increase the chances of their being injured." Amen sister!
My coffee pot is dying and my SIL said pitch it. The Den adds that we have a new one down stairs. I replied that it would be like throwing away an old friend. But when that old friend stops making coffee our friendship is over!
