The birthday gathering on Sunday was a lovely affair. Guests were served the finest hors d'oeuvres and finger foods. Followed by their choice of entrees, either Pork or Seafood. The meal also included a salad composed of seasonal greenery. Desert consisted of a choice or either Chocolate Caramel Peanut Surprise in a Cloud of Whipped Cream, Chocolate Buttermilk cake, or Lemon Buttermilk cake.

After dinner, the quests were led to the gazebo, where there enjoyed an amazing light and water show...

Well actually, I did manage to pull together a cook-in-eat-out, on Sunday. I prepared BBQ ribs, shrimp, bacon-cracker-cheese-thingamabobs, seven layer salad, BBQ wieners, Snicker salad, and 3 cakes from scratch. It had rained most of the day, but decided to clear around 7:00 p.m. Last year, high winds ripped off the cover to my party tent and bent the frame. But,Fiance was able to get the frame back in shape and he and Selly stretched a tarp over the top of the frame, making an adequate shelter for the food.

Because it was overcast, it got dark earlier than expected, and we found ourselves trying to dine 'round the glow of an OFF! lantern. I had a brainstorm and retrieved the floor lamp from the living room and connected it to an extension cord. Yeeeeee Hawwwww! Let there be light! We all sat out in the yard, plates on our laps, in mismatched chairs, and chowed down. As we ate, Tallen played with the emergency lights in Uncle Jason's car ( he works for the Fire Dept.) Then it started raining and we all huddled under the tarp, with the food. We finally gave up and went inside, where Tallen had a fit, not wanting Aunt Worra to leave. Ross slept through the whole thing.

I did manage to get some pics of Baby Mason. I don't think he enjoys having his picture taken. In one of them, he looks like he might shank me...

Back again! Hurried to end my post as I thought I heard Hubs drive up. Anyway, Mason was so sweet and he had the New Baby Smell. Plus, he thought I was awesome, which is a feature that I admire in a baby. He turned 1 month old on Sunday and is already cooing and seems to be trying to talk.
