To keep track of appointments, school events, and birthdays, where everyone could easily see them, I purchased an extra large, laminated, classroom calendar from S&S Worldwide. It hangs in the open stairwell, visible from the kitchen. At the beginning of each month, we fill in the dates and all the important events that we know of at the time. Dry erase markers are kept in a nearby drawer, so anyone can easily add a new event. At the end of each month, we take a picture of the calender, making it easy to look back and see what day something important happened on, should we need to. Not exactly Martha Stewart's idea of good decorating but it sure makes life a lot easier. Hubs loves it, because he doesn't need to wear reading glasses to see it...
Great idea! Right now we just use a regular wall calender for that and we're already complaining that this year's calender has hard to read dates.
