I work from home, also have a craft business, do a lot of graphic work, etc... As a result, I have electrical cords coming from my computer desk, seven ways from Sunday. Scanners, printers, speakers, phones, lamps, etc... When something stops working, it can be hard to figure what is plugged in where. I resolved this by snagging our vast fingernail polish collection and, using different colors for each item, I put matching dots on the back of the electronic device and the plug of it's cord. This makes it's so much easier to find the plug that I am looking for.
