Here are this week's head scratchers and such...

Times Are Hard...

... but it seems there not hard enough for the girls' bus driver to want to keep his job. He whipped right by and left them standing at the stop again this morning. I guess he just woke up this morning and thought, "Hey, I'd rather be deer hunting. I reckon I'll do my best to lose my job today." To which I reply, "OK. I'll see what I can do about that!."

Not only were the girls there in plain sight, Cina was even waving a flashlight as hard as she could go. He didn't even slow down! Last week, he left them standing in the rain for 15 minutes while he went up the road and picked up other kids and then came back. I am sick of trusting that the schools will handle this. I'm calling the big guns! (whoever they might be LOL.)

Welcome Back Girls' Night Out!

I printed out one of my gift certs for Sagebrush and we were on our way. Our food was great. Our waitress really was awful. I used to be a waitress and so am actually very lenient about service, as I know things can get hectic. But the place was slow and the service was still awful. The funny part was that there was an almost $10.00 gratuity tacked onto our bill and there was nothing to be done about that. But, when we put our payment into the little folder, we exceeded the bill by over $3.00. She grabbed the little folder and told us to have a good night, then took off like a shot! We had no control over giving her the $10.00 but I'll be darned if we were adding $3.00 more to it! We flagged down a waiter that we are pretty familiar with and had him track her down for our change.

We went to Walmart afterwards and were thrilled to find a rack full of shirts for only $1.00 each. I bought seven of them for the older girls to share. They were Miley brand but they said they don't mind as the tag doesn't show. Add to those the bag of shirts that my sister sent them and they have an awesome new wardrobe of shirts.

I also picked up two boxes of Kashi cereal that were free with coupons and some patterns that I thought were pretty cute. We didn't do anything super-exciting but it was great to get out of the house and hang out with some adult company for a while.

What's Up With FedEx?

I was expecting a package yesterday and was super anxious as it contained Tallen's Christmas Netbook. It never arrived yet the online tracker said that it had been delivered. Imagine my surprise when Renni called and said that the FedEx guy had left the package in her boyfriend's car at his job. What the heck? It seems that he met the FedEx guy a few weeks ago and told him that he knew me and not wanting to drive to the boonies, FedEx Guy decided to leave my package in his UNLOCKED car, in a parking lot, with a note written on the box that read, "Thanks for taking this!" GRRR! My beef is that the man should have at least called and informed me that he was leaving it elsewhere. Plus, I dare say that there are lots of folks who "know me" but that does not mean that I want my important packages left in their care. I am still on the fence between pissed off and "Oh, whatever!".

Hubs? Is That You?

Hubs is being especially nice lately. Frankly, it skeers me.

  2. I called his boss and gave him an earful. We'll see what happens...

  3. I hate when servers assume they get to keep the change!

You reminded me that the bus driver passing the bus stop thing does happen. I understand that it's hard to see in the dark but then maybe he should be stopping or slowing way down to see if anyone's there!

  4. I would so be on the bus company about this driver. A dark, early--probably cold--morning...your kids shouldn't have to put up with that!

I've had that kind of situation with a bad waitress, too. I told the manager that, since it's the policy that the gratuity is tacked on and I have no say in the matter, that, if I come back and that waitress is there, we're just leaving--no future business there. The manager gave me a gift card. I thought that was nice--I wasn't looking for something like that. Turns out she was fired shortly thereafter anyway. Guess I wasn't the only one who complained.
