I Made It!

Christmas is over. I don't have any major gifts to brag about. But at this point, I just feel lucky to have survived...

The Brain Dead Ex...

I'm sure that others may have a different opinion but, I just feel strongly, that I have every right to be annoyed by this...

Hubs divorced his first wife, back in 1989! Since then, he has remarried twice and she has remarried once. During Hubs second marriage, his ex never came around. But, since he married me, she has invited herself to numerous family events. I'm talking Thanksgiving, Christmas, and even birthday parties. I would possibly understand, if their kids were young and residing with her, that perhaps she felt she should escort them to these events. However, the "kids" are adults and have been for a while. One even has a child of his own! It is so bad, that my SIL, overhearing the Ex's plan to attend my MIL's birthday party, called her up and told her point blank, "This is a family event and you are not invited." Harsh but necessary.

Soooo, Hubs went to his Mom's, on the Sunday before Christmas, for dinner and gift exchange. Sure as sh*t, he walks in and finds his ex-wife was there. He choked down some food and has a pic made with his mom, then left. He said that he took his son aside and asked just what the heck his mother was doing there. The reply? " Oh. she hadn't seen Grandma in a while and wanted to visit." WTH? Are there not 364 other days in a year, that she could have popped in for a visit? I just about have my craw full of that hag. If this isn't some sort of spite work, I'd be badly fooled.

More Please, Sir...

Our Christmas dinner consisted of a spiral sliced ham, chicken 'n dumplings, and pasta salad w/ ham in it. There were also various other dishes. Not traditional, as Christmas dinner goes, but what folks requested. After cooking all day. I couldn't hold a bite. Hours later, when I felt I could eat something, I made my way to the kitchen, already tasting that yummy pasta salad. I could have screamed! Turns out that Cina, who does not eat pork, had took it upon herself to send every last bite home with my mother. I couldn't believe it...

The Wee Ones...

All of the kids really enjoyed their gifts. I don't think I have ever seen Tallen smile so much, in his entire life! They had a great Christmas, so I did as well...

I hope you all did too!
