Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps Pure-Castile Soap, 18-in-1 Hemp Peppermint

Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps Pure-Castile Soap, 18-in-1 Hemp Peppermint, 32 Ounce Bottle

Honestly, had it been left up to me to purchase this product, in order to try it, I never would have. But, as it was a gift, I decided to put it to the test and see if it really lives up to it's claims...

First of all, the smell is divine! Very peppermint, but not harsh. It reminds me of yummy chewing gum. I expected this to be a thicker product. It is actually quite thin, which made me expect it to be weak in lather. I was so wrong! Just a dab of this gives all the lather one could ever want. I have used it as a shampoo and as a body wash, with excellent results. I have used it as a cleanser, from the kitchen floors, to the toilet. I was very impressed with it's ability to cut through grease and grime, while leaving such a pleasant scent behind.

Having been disappointed by several natural cleaners ( especially a certain dishwasher detergent), I have to say I am now a huge fan of this one.

Bounce Dryer Bar

I love this! No dryer sheets to keep up with, or find hidden in your clothes. No rushing to catch the rinse cycle. Just replace it every couple of months and forget it!

Charger for Wii Remotes

I had noticed these for sale, all over the internet, for a long time. I wrongly assumed that they were for some special, rechargeable, Wii remote. Finally, I took a closer look and realized that the charger actually arrives with two replacement battery covers for your Wii remotes. Attached to the covers are rechargeable batteries! Brilliant! I was able to snag one for less than $10 and it works like a charm. Anyone who has a Wii, knows how quickly the remotes eat up batteries, so this is a great money saver.

Mother Earth News

A great magazine. Also a great website! There are so many helpful articles there, filled with great ideas and money saving solutions.

My Kids

When people discover that I have six kids, ranging in age from 3 to 23, they are taken aback a bit. Honestly, a few years ago, I would have reacted the same way.  I never imagined having a family this size. But, now I do. From the "inside" it doesn't seem nearly as strange and hectic as folks might imagine it to be.

Sure, it can be loud at times. Sick days are a nightmare. Everything, from food to toilet paper, is purchased in bulk. But, I don't think I would change a thing, even if I could.

I love getting my occasional night out, with my oldest daughter. This gives me a few hours to catch my breath, gather my thoughts, eat a dinner that is still hot, and get some shopping done.

My oldest son live in Florida, so I never see him. : (

My 16 year old daughter loves music and singing, just like me. We connect on a lot of subjects and always have great conversations.

My 13 year old loves all things crafty and is always ready to push up her sleeves and help with an art project.

My 7 year old son. Goodness, he is multifaceted!  He has his Asperger's quirks. But is also wise beyond his years. Not a single day passes, without his doing or saying something so funny, or so touching and sweet, sending us to the point of tears, either way.

My 3 year old daughter is so sassy! She never hesitates to say exactly what is on her mind. She is such a tough little thing, yet feminine at  the same time. She is always dancing and singing. Plus, she twists when she walks and it is so adorable.

So, even on the craziest of days, I just can't imagine life with a single one of them. They are each unique and irreplaceable.

  3. i've found several people in the blogosphere lately who have aspie kids. it's kinda cool to feel less alone in my parenting-a-uniquely-unique-kid world.
also, i love the dryer bar too. it's the best laundry invention since the downy fab softner ball.
